Booking Information For Your Dog Friendly Island Holiday

• To make a booking we require full payment at least seven (7) days in advance. Once you have decided on the days for your holiday, please complete the online booking form (on page 2), save it (and print yourself a copy), and email the form to anne@karraisland.com. 

The booking form will also provide the KarraIsland Cottage banking details. Electronic transfer payment is preferred however cheques or credit card payments may be used.

• On receipt of payment in full and the completed booking form, your holiday booking in KarraIsland Cottage will be processed. An email will be sent to you as confirmation, together with your arrival directions to the cottage where our Cottage Manager, will meet you with the keys.

• Please ensure that you put your name on the electronic transfer so that we know which payment belongs to you. Please note that your bank receipt number with your electronic transfer will be your official confirmation of payment.

Barge and Water Bus Transport Information

• The vehicle barge provides regular vehicle transport departing from Redland Bay. Barge bookings are required for this popular service and should be made as soon as possible. The office number is (07) 3488 5300.

You are welcome to arrive and depart at your own convenience unless otherwise advised. As soon as you have your arrival and departure times please email anne@karraisland.com and we will arrange for our cottage manager to meet you at the cottage with the keys. If he is unable to meet you he will arrange for the keys to be left for you.

Water Bus Transport - a fleet of efficient water buses provide a frequent, reliable transport service to the other islands and to the mainland. Trips to the mainland take just 12 minutes. Click here to view the detailed timetable.

What to bring

As there are no shops on Karragarra Island guests will need to bring the following:

• All linen including sheets, pillow cases (pillows provided), bath and beach towels, blankets and doonas. Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed, bedroom 2 has a double bed and in the lounge is a pull out couch.

• All food requirements for you and your dogs.

• Clean dog towels to dry wet dogs and dog beds or mats.

• Bring a "pooper scooper" and doggy bags to put your dog's poops in.

• Tick protection — as there are ticks on the Bay Islands you will need up to date tick protection for your dogs.  Please discuss this with your Vet.

• Insect repellent as there are mozzies and midges on this subtropical island. KarraIsland Cottage is screened and has reverse cycle air conditioning so inside there is protection but outside, especially at dusk and dawn the mossies may find you.

The very close neighbouring islands of Lamb, Macleay and Russell all have a variety of shopping facilities, restaurants, clubs, hotels and take-away outlets if guests prefer not to cook at home or need to purchase supplies.

Please note that well behaved, clean dogs are very welcome inside the cottage but we do not accept dogs under the age of six months.
